Innovating Sustainable Agriculture

Almond Orchard
Magharo Capital is at the forefront of sustainable agriculture in Georgia, pioneering advanced almond orchards that meet the highest global standards for quality and sustainability.

Magharo Capital was founded in 2020, with operations launching in 2021 and the almond orchard established in 2023. The orchard spans 320 hectares in the Sighnaghi Municipality of Kakheti, Georgia, situated along the Iori River near the village of Kvemo Magharo.

Established by successful Georgian entrepreneurs, Magharo Capital seeks to bring new life to previously uncultivated land in one of Georgia's most underserved regions. What began as an ambitious vision to transform abandoned territory into a thriving agricultural project has grown into one of the country's most significant almond production ventures. Our goal is to produce European-standard almonds in Georgia that compete confidently in both domestic and international export markets. We believe our success will inspire further investment in Georgian agriculture. With an additional 200 hectares already acquired adjacent to the existing orchard, expansion is already underway.

From day one, building to European standards has been our baseline not our aspiration. Before selecting our land, we engaged Nogaltec, one of Europe's leading agronomic consultancies. Our irrigation and fertigation systems were engineered by Agro-Precision, a leading European agricultural engineering firm making us the first in Georgia to commission such a system at this level. We selected three certified Spanish almond varieties sourced from Nurfruits, one of Spain's premier nurseries. Our orchard incorporates technology and materials from Israeli, Spanish, Italian and German companies including Netafim, Molecor, Caprari, AZUD, CEYSA, Condor, Solmax and others. Automation and meteorological monitoring are powered by Agronic and Progress systems. On-site harvesting is carried out using the TENIAS harvester, an industry leader in its class.

A 130,000 m³ water reservoir, one of the largest in Georgia and a 5,000 m³ settling basin were constructed within the orchard, ensuring water independence even in conditions of regional water scarcity. Every technology and partner selected reflects our unwavering commitment to quality at every stage of production.

All orchard staff are local residents. We employ 24 permanent staff across our orchard and Tbilisi office, with seasonal employment reaching up to 60 people drawn from surrounding villages.

Our first test harvest took place in 2025. In 2026 we expect approximately 550 tonnes of in-shell almonds, yielding up to 180 tonnes of shelled and sorted almond kernels.

Our Journey Together
Established with a vision for the future, Magharo Capital is transforming the agricultural landscape of Kakheti, promoting high-tech almond farming to benefit both local and international markets.
